Programme overview
The objective of the International Trainee Programme is to supply and develop talent that will help expand our capabilities to win and execute new business in growth markets.
Our trainee programme is an intensive 2 year ‘on-the-job’ learning experience, consisting of three 8-month assignments, covering different businesses and geographies within Aker. The programme focus is to expose recent graduates various job assignments to broaden their experiences and provide guidance through their first professional steps.
The different insights into our company will support the decision for a long term direction. Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees are encouraged to further develop their skills for a fulfilling and long-term career in Aker.
Entry requirements
Every year, we will offer positions to 10 successful business graduates who have:
- a Master Degree (or equivalentl) in Business Administration, Economics or related majors
- recently graduated, with a maximum of two years' post- university work experience
- international experience
- fluency in English and one or more of the following: Russian / Hindi / Malay / Norwegian
- practical experience from a technology or technology-related industry
- talent, with leadership potential -a realistic, “hands-on” approach.

Application process
The application process is divided into four phases.
Phase 1: On-line registration of resumé and motivation letter.
Phase 2: On-line verbal and numerical ability test.
Phase 3: Telephone interviews.
Phase 4: Assessment in one of our regional centres.
Note that resumés and a "motivation" letters must be completed in English and submitted on-line for your aplication to be considered. Those invited to further assessments in the later phases will be individually notified by e-mail. All tests, telephone interviews and assessment centre days will be conducted in English. Other documentation, such as transcripts, references etc. can be in your local language.
