The unit Group Capital, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is a key unit within Nordea’s risk management and has dedicated and strong competence for measuring, analysing and managing risks as well as supporting the business areas to understand and run their risks. The unit has responsibilities very closely linked to Nordea’s risk profile and risk appetite. The unit has approximately 80 employees, located in the four Nordic countries in order to ensure a prudent risk and capital management within the bank.
This position will offer you an insight into the risk and capital management area, a field which is in high focus in the international financial industry due to the new capital adequacy regulations, known as Basel III. You will learn about Nordea's customers, products and processes from a risk and capital perspective and based on this knowledge be part of the capital efficiency process in Nordea.
Job profile and main responsibilities
You will be part of the Portfolio Analysis Corporate & Retail team and focus on analysing and reporting of the development of the Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) and large exposures for legal entities within the Nordea Group.
Tasks will cover following areas:
- Analysis of the development in Nordea´s capital adequacy figures on a monthly basis within the corporate and retail portfolio.
- Ensure high quality of the internal and external capital adequacy reports
- Participation in working groups related to different development areas such capital efficiency projects
- Identifying areas to be improved in the capital adequacy solution and analysis of the financial impact of performed development
The position will be either in Stockholm or Helsinki.
Your profile and preferred qualifications
We are seeking for a high performing individual with the following qualifications:
- Academic degree in economics or finance, statistics or other mathematical major, engineering, computer sciences
- Experience of the risk and capital management area
- Experience of capital adequacy regulations e.g. Basel, CRD IV
- Ability to deliver on time and according to predefined quality standards
- Experience in SQL, SAS or VBA is an advantage
