DDS System Engineering leads the development and integration of innovative solutions and systems for instrumentation, drilling automation, managed pressure drilling and information services to the drilling industry. We need new people to help us meet the ever increasing demands placed on this department for new and existing products and systems.
The tasks will mainly be:
- Be part of a multidiscipline team working across NOV locations and business units to enable NOV to deliver game changing systems, that directly addresses challenging industry problems related to Managed Pressure Drilling and Drilling Automation
- Lead the development of system level software, controls and functional documentation
- Technical overall responsibility for NOVs MPD systems
- Process level system/software integration
- Review software, controls and functional documentation for the individual components
- Overview of software, controls and functional compliance requirements
- Coordinate MPD related development projects and ?Drive? the engineering team to create relevant specifications, documentation and certification for the systems that we will deliver.
- Participate in safety evaluations
- Follow up on system deliveries
- Achieve continual technological innovation and pursuit of intellectual property

We are seeking applicants with a minimum of a Bachelor degree, but years in the field can compensate for formal education. A deep understanding of MPD solutions and operation as well as a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is a requirement. Previous experience in the field of product development, drilling systems, offshore applications, drilling control systems, or equal. - is an advantage. An aptitude for learning - and sharing knowledge, with a good portion of repetitive work is expected. The work place is in Stavanger, Norway or Aberdeen, UK. Norwegian language proficiency is a large benefit, however the due to the global role; expert level in English - written and spoken is required.
