A full-time 3 years position as postdoctoral research fellow is available in the research group of Professor Hedvig Nordeng at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Oslo, Norway.
The postdoctoral research fellow will be working on the "DrugsInPregnancy"-project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) in the Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety Research Group (PharmaSafe).
PharmaSafe is also part of the multidiciplinaryPharmaTox Strategic Research Initiativeat the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Oslo. PharmaTox unites research in pharmaceutical bioscience, biology, bioinformatics and statistics.
We are searching for an ambitious and highly motivated scientist with a strong interest in pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety.
The fellowship is for a period of three years starting 1st January 2016.
No one can be appointed for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution.
Job/ project description:
This postdoctoral research fellow will be working with the "DrugsInPregnancy"-project funded by the European Research Council. The aim of the project will be to use several statistical techniques to study associations between prenatal exposures to specific medications and neurodevelopment in childhood. The epidemiological data consists of the Mother and Child Cohort (MoBa) at the National Institute of Public Health linked to other national health registries. The range of methodological approaches to strengthen causal inference in observational data includes: advanced statistical techniques (e.g. propensity scores, marginal structure models), sibling design, directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) and stratified analyses associations across indication.
Qualifications:
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree within the topic pharmaco-epidemiology and have research experience with the MoBa or other large health registries. Candidates with documented internationalization and ability to attract external funding will be perferred. Interest and experience with interdisciplinary work in additional to experience with supervising master students is an advantage.
The postdoctoral fellow should be able to work independently and structured, while at the same time engage in close collaborations.

Salary:
Position code 1352, Pay Grade: 57 – 65 (NOK 483 700 – 560 700 per year, depending on qualifications and seniority).
