The role and key responsibilities  

Test management covers both operational, tactical and strategic tasks. Project test management is considered to be operational, and engagement in further development of NCC test framework is classified as tactical. As Test Manager within the development projects, you will be responsible for planning, managing, directing, and coordinating the test activities for the IT project. You will also have a key role in our vendors test deliverables, and you will report to the IT Project Manager for the project. We’re looking for someone with experience in planning and executing large scale applications, cross countries and organizations. If you enjoy being the interface between business needs and IT suppliers, testing with external vendors as the solution provider, you might be the right person for the position.  

Project assignments (Operational): 

• Have the overall responsibility for the project delivery (quality and standards) 

•  Be responsible for the projects test strategy and process Prepare and govern the UAT planning and reporting for product releases  

• Be involved in customer and solution provider contacts  

• Review the requirements and support the business.  

To succeed in this position, we believe that you are a test manager with an excellent knowledge of test process, test strategy and requirement management. 

Strategical/Tactical assignments:  

High degree of engagement and involvement in continuous improvement and adapting the best practices to our framework and way of working is an obvious expectation of everyone in the test team, i.e., update and maintain QA processes, practices, procedures and work proactively for improving all aspects of quality. 

About Finance & IT 

You will join the Group function “Finance & IT”, which leads NCC´s strategic development and major change programs in the business. Finance & IT is NCC’s development and delivery function for IT as well as operations development and research & innovation. We are a Nordic organization working together closely under one common management. Cooperation in- and between units is key for us to deliver value to NCCs business areas, and therefore we have adapted an Agile team-based setup with a focus on collaboration, people and efficient delivery and development.  

Your experience and background   

We believe that you, apart from having a passion for testing and advanced testing as an engineering discipline, have an Academic degree and have a good knowledge of work processes in large companies. You have several years of experience in the Test Manager area. You are fluent in English and one of the Nordic languages, both verbally and written. Experience in ITIL and Agile processes is also an asset.  

You will be very important for us in our strategic journey, and we think that you:  

• are ISTQB Foundation Qualified  

• have experience and strong working knowledge of the Testing Lifecycle and testing process  

• have extensive experience in facilitating and managing User Acceptance Tests in a professional manner 

• can work independently and in small teams  

• possess excellent communications skills (speaking and writing)  

• Have knowledge in System Integration Testing and non-functional requirement testing.

Additional information 

This position is located at an NCC office in any of our major cities in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The position requires some travelling, although we do apply a flexible way of working and strive to collaborate digitally as much as possible. In accordance with NCCs safety culture we conduct background checks on final candidates. You will be reporting to the IT Competence Manager whilst working cross-functions in an Agile team driven by the Practice Lead of the area.
